Character Education:Lays the Foundation for Students'Future Development—An Analysis Based on the Development Plans of Character Education in the Republic of Korea Since 2020
It is the vision of the Republic of Korea's character education to cultivate students with the character competences that dominate the future society and lay the foundation for their future development.By analyzing the development plans of character education in the Republic of Korea since 2020,it is apparent that progress has been achieved in the development and popularization of character education programs,the participation of multiple actors in the governance of character education,the training and capacity enhancement of character education teachers,and the construction of a character education system that involves collaboration among families,schools,and the community.It also determines a series of new initiatives,such as enriching character education based on school curriculum,promoting practice-oriented personalized character education,seeking alternatives to character education,and deepening character education teacher training.The analysis of the Republic of Korea's character education development plans will stimulate reflection on how to cultivate the competences that Chinese students will need in the future society.
