China-South Korea Educational Exchange in the Context of the Belt and Road:Current Situation,Challenges and Countermeasures
China and South Korea are neighboring countries and have had frequent exchanges since ancient times.Cultural and historical origins have laid a humanistic foundation for educational exchanges between them. After the Belt and Road initiative was put forward, the educational exchange mechanism has gradually matured, providing talent support for the Belt and Road. However, educational exchanges between the two sides are still facing challenges such as limited areas of cooperation,a decrease in significant scientific research collaborations,a sharp decline in the number of Korean students coming to China, insufficient in-depth exchanges affecting cultural interoperability, and the low level of students'academic qualifications. In recent years,South Korea has implemented new education policies, such as the implementation of the strategy of internationalization of higher education, the promotion of structural reform of universities, the increase of funding support for higher education, and the improvement of distance education, which provide new opportunities for educational exchanges between China and South Korea.Looking forward to the future of China-South Korea education exchanges and cooperation,it is necessary to strengthen the communication of education policies and improve the exchange mechanism;promote education exchange programs and implement regional integration;promote the interoperability of languages between the two countries and accelerate the construction of a language service system;improve the global awareness of teachers and school administrators, and enhance the exchange of education experiences.
