With the gradual formation of the three basic functions of higher education,the relationship between higher education and urban development has changed from alienation to symbiosis and co-prosperity.The higher education cluster in New York City has formed a virtuous circle of interactive development with the development of urban scientific and technological innovation.This is achieved through the development of human resources,the integration of government,industry,university and research,as well as cultural infiltration.The study on the interactive development path of higher education clusters and urban science and technology innovation in New York City is helpful to better understand the interaction relationship between universities and cities,and is of significance for the linkage development of higher education clusters and urban science and technology innovation in China.
