Characteristics,Principles and Models of Regionalization of Higher Education in Asia—A Dialogue with Prof.Kazuo Kuroda of Waseda University
Under the trend of regionalization of higher education in Asia,educational cooperation and academic exchanges have become increasingly close.The trend of regionalization of higher education in Asia has led to increasingly close educational cooperation and academic exchanges.At present,western developed countries are still the main host countries for international students,while Asian countries are becoming more influential as study destinations.In terms of regional education governance,higher education in Asia is too diverse to simply adopt a uniform regionalized structure as in Europe.The article analyzes the history and current situation of regionalization of higher education in Asia,proposes a multi-level structure of regional governance different from that of higher education in Europe,adopts the"peace approach"and the"development approach"as the guiding principles of the regionalization of higher education in Asia,and advocates the use of the Flying Geese Model to understand the higher education cooperation in Asia.The article advocates promoting a multi-level structure of regional and institutional partnerships to embrace the dynamic diversity of regionalization of higher education in Asia.Meanwhile,it reaffirms the mission of higher education for peace and sustainable development in Asia and the world.
