Current Situation and Trends of International Mobility of Chinese Students from a Global Perspective
The analysis of international student data released by UNESCO and other countries shows that the global international student mobility maintains a growing trend;the demand for international mobility of students in developing countries is obvious,and the international mobility of students in developed countries is developing steadily.China is still the world's largest origin country of international students,but the rate of growth is lower than that of India and other countries.The need for international mobility of Chinese students is still strong,the number of students in traditional destination countries will stabilize,and emerging destination countries appear;the major choice is still STEM programs.With the acceleration of the internationalization of Chinese enterprises and the deepening of the"Belt and Road"initiative,the trend of brain circulation is becoming increasingly obvious.In order to further promote the opening up of high-level education,China should sustainably improve the"safe study abroad"mechanism,better play the role of people-to-people exchanges,improve the service platform for the return and development of overseas students,and explore the selection of international organization talents from overseas students.
