The Policy and Practice Trends in Social and Emotional Learning——A Comparative Study Based on Multi-country Cases
Since the 21st century,many governments have been aware of the importance of Social and Emotional Learning(SEL),and regard it as a crucial method of achieving holistic education and enhancing the quality of education.Additionally,some academic organizations have also been injecting new vitality into the development of SEL.This study focuses on SEL cases in the United States,New Zealand,Singapore,South Korea,and other countries,and analyzes the development trends of international SEL through the comparative study method,aiming to learn from the effective SEL experiences of the international community to help our country better develop localized SEL.The study concludes that the development of SEL presents the characteristics of all-age target beneficiaries,multiple types of subjects participating in SEL,and integration of SEL with vocational education and vocational guidance.The impact of SEL is significantly expanding,creating a trend of two-way spread both horizontally and vertically.
