How to Develop Teacher Education in Educational College of High-level Comprehensive University—Experience and Inspiration from Ghent University,Belgium
The participation of comprehensive universities in teacher education is an intrinsic requirement for cultivating high-quality teachers in the new era.To prepare for the future teachers training and reserves and improve the quality of teacher training,Ghent University in Belgium actively leverages the advantages of the comprehensive university education college:implements the integrated and flexible training program of"dual-track parallel"and"modular teaching",and jointly builds a pre-service and in-service training system for secondary school teachers;actively carries out secondary education research oriented to front-line teaching practice,closely combines theoretical research with educational practice;and trains teacher trainers to focus on promoting the professional growth of teachers.These actions have effectively solved the problem of future teacher reserves and consolidated front-line teachers'teaching ability and subject knowledge.It can provide international experience for the practical exploration of teacher education in the education colleges of high-level comprehensive universities in China from the aspects of establishing the secondary school teacher qualification framework,improving the training program and building the professional community.
