Effects of Chinese Medicine Compound on Menopause Syndrome:Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis
Objective To systematically evaluate the clinical efficacy of Chinese Medicine Compound(CHM)for menopause syndrome. Methods China National Knowledge Infrastructure(CNKI),China Science and Technology Journal Database(VIP)and Wanfang full-text database were searched for a randomized controlled trial(RCT)related to the efficacy of CHM therapy published from January 1993 to May 2023.Literature quality was evaluated according to the Cochrane manual and the Meta-analysis was performed using RevMan 5.4 software. Results A total of 131 RCTs were included in this study, and Meta-analysis showed that CHM improved clinical response rate(OR=3.90,95%CI:3.50-4.34,P<0.00001),reduced Kupperman score(MD=-3.69,95%9∶-4.79--2.58,P<0.000 01)and decreased LH level(MD=-2.79,95%CI:-4.65--0.92,P=0.003).The results of subgroup analysis showed that the clinical efficacy of menopausal patients treated by Gui-Zhi-Long-Gu-Mu-Li decoction,Dan-Zhi-Xiao-Yao-San,Er-Xian decoction,Liu-Wei-Di-Huang decoction,Zhi-Bai-Di-Huang decoction and Zi-Shui-Qing-Gan decoction was better than that of hormone therapy(OR=3.83,95%CI:3.13-4.68,P=0.002).Conclusion CHM treatment can significantly improve clinical efficiency, relieve discomfort symptoms, reduce Kupperman score and improve LH level.
