The recent outbreak of serious social unrest in France has exposed its long-standing racism. This racism is systemic, mainly manifested in economic impoverishment, social marginalization, religious stigmatization and invisible discrimination of the immigration community in France. The reasons lie in France's long history of colonial thinking, the government's failure to respond to major demographic changes, and the general rise of populism in Europe. The current economic, social, political, cultural and other realistic problems facing France are also interacting with this systemic racism with their effects reinforcing each other, thus further increasing its harm.To escape the encroachment of this systemic racism,France must change its pendulum between multiculturalism and"Republican Values",strengthen governance, and truly implement ethnic equality.
