Occurrence regularity of Tomostethus fraxini Niu&Wei and trapping effect of different colored sticky traps
Tomostethus fraxini Niu&Wei(Hymenoptera,Tenthredinidae),a new defoliator, has seriously harmed Fraxinus spp.in recent years in North and East China. In order to promote the research and application of green prevention and control technology, the occurrence pattern and living habits of T.fraxini were investigated in Baiwangshan Forest Park and Xishan National Forest Park in Beijing, and the trapping experiments of different colored sticky traps with different layout ways were carried out in the occurrence areas of T.fraxini in the two parks. The results showed that T.fraxini could be trapped by four colors of sticky traps. The average number of T.fraxini trapped by hanging blue and yellow-green sticky traps was significantly higher than the number of the others, and the hanging effect was better than that around the trunk. The daily number of T.fraxini trapped in areas with sufficient sunlight was significantly higher than that in areas with insufficient sunlight.Besides, the number of natural enemies and the ratio of beneficial insects to pests trapped by blue and red sticky traps was relatively low, indicating that using blue and red sticky traps to control T.fraxini was less harmful to beneficial insects, and it had important significance for the protection and utilization of natural enemies.Based on comprehensive analysis, hanging blue sticky traps in a sunny area has the best effect on controlling the adults of T.fraxini.
