Occurrence of Aromia bungii Faldermann in the Summer Palace and green control techniques application experiments
Aromia bungii Faldermann is a serious wood borer of peach tree.It has caused serious losses in recent years, and posed significant threat to the peach trees in the West Causeway and the Longevity Hill in the Summer Palace. The purpose of this research is to investigate the occurrence of A.bungii and test the green control techniques. The results showed that A.bungii completed one generation every 2-3 years in the Summer Palace. Our green control techniques mainly comprises sugar and vinegar trap, artificial capture, blocking spawning, biological control, artificial hook catch, partial fumigation, together with plant quarantine and subtle management of infested tree.Compared with the control area, this techniques application in consecutive three years has achieved 89.81%of control rate for adults and a maximum control effect 80.40%for larvae. Our integrated control techniques presented a suitable solution for A.bungii prevention and control in gardens like the Summer Palace.
