Spatial damage characteristics of Cataphrodisium rubripenne(Hope)on Stranvaesia davidiana
To clarify the damage characteristics of Cataphrodisium rubripenne(Hope)on Stranvaesia davidiana, the spatial distribution characteristics of frass holes, exit holes, pupal chambers and gallery within the host tree of C.rubripenne were investigated. The results showed that in Fuyuan county,Yunnan province, the frass holes of C.rubripenne were primarily located in tree trunks below 150 cm at height and in the trunk(or branch)with a diameter of 5-10 cm,and the number on the shady side of the trunk were significantly higher than that on the sunny side. The exit holes were predominantly found in the trunks below 150 cm at height and in the trunk(or branch)less than 15 cm in diameter, and the number of exit holes on the sunny side of trunk was significantly more than that on the shady side. The number of frass holes and exit holes decreased with increasing of trunk height, and was significantly negatively correlated with trunk height. The pupal chambers were located above the exit holes at an average distance of(18.89±5.04)cm.Galleries were mainly concentrated on trunks at the height of 0-150 cm,and in trunk(or branch)with the diameter of 5-10 cm.The number and size of galleries were significantly negatively correlated with the trunk height and positively correlated with the trunk(or branch)diameter. The results of this study can provide a theoretical basis for the precise in-forest control of C.rubripenne.
