Effects of Different Acidifiers on Growth Performance of Weaned Piglets Under Different Evaluation Standards
Since the No.194 announcement been published by Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs on July 1st,2020,feed AGP free had been implementation more than three years. As a feed additive which was widely accepted, feed acidifier was widely used in feed mill. However,at present, there was a lack of suitable evaluation methods for animal physiological characteristics of acidifiers. In this study,a more suitable evaluation index for animal physiological stage of acidifiers, effective total acid, was proposed.A total of 200 first-parity weaned piglets were randomly divided into five treatments with eight replicates per treatment and five piglets per replicate according to the weaning weight. They were blank control group and supplemented with four common feed acidifiers in the market. The results showed that the average daily feed intake(ADFI)and average daily gain(ADG)were significantly improved by adding feed acidifiers at the weaning stage(P<0.05),and the ADFI and ADG of adding acidifiers with higher available total acid was significantly better than that of the group with lower available total acid(P<0.05).Addition of feed acidifiers reduces piglet diarrhea rates and produces positive return on investment(ROI).This study was expected to provide more suitable methods and ideas for acidifier evaluation.
