Nutritional Characteristics of Biological Feed and Its Application in Pig Production
With the expansion of the scale of animal husbandry, the demand for feed increases, and the shortage of feed resources and safety problems become increasingly prominent.Under the premise of ensuring feed quality, rational development and utilization of feed resources and reducing dependence on food crops are the key to sustainable development of animal husbandry.Biological feed was a new type of feed which could be produced by fermentation of agricultural by-products and other raw materials used renewable resources through certain biotechnology means. The emergence of biological feed had effectively alleviated the problem of"human and livestock competing for food".Biological feed was known for its high-quality protein, essential amino acids, vitamins, minerals and other nutrients, but also contained probiotics, enzymes and various metabolites, and these unique nutritional characteristics make the biological feed could meet the nutritional needs of pigs at different stages.Biological feed could promote the rapid growth of pigs, improved feed utilization rate, enhance body resistance, maintain intestinal health, reduced feeding costs and improved the ecological environment of pig houses,so it was widely used in pig production. Therefore, the fermentation types and nutritional characteristics of bio-fermented feed, the mechanism of digestion and utilization in animal body, the advantages and effects of application in pig farming, and the beneficial effects on changing the environment of livestock houses were mainly reviewed. It provided strong support for achieving efficient and healthy breeding and promoting sustainable development of animal husbandry.
