Study on Structure and Aging Properties of Acrylonitrile-Butadiene-Styrene Resin by Mid Infrared Spectroscopy
In order to study the molecular structure and aging behavior of acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene(ABS resin),the ABS resin at different temperatures were tested by means of mid-infrared(MIR)spectroscopy and temperature-dependent MIR(TD-MIR)spectroscopy.The results show that the infrared absorption modes of ABS resin mainly include νNitrile based structure,νButadiene structure,νPolystyrene structure,νHydrocarbon based structure and νCarbonyl structure. In the temperature range of 293~573 K,with the increase of measurement temperature, the infrared absorption frequency corresponding to the main functional groups(νNitrile based structure,νButadiene structure and νPolystyrene structure)of ABS resin has appeared obvious red shift or blue shift phenomenon, and its absorption intensity has obvious change. This phenomenon indicates that the anti-aging property of ABS resin is decreased, which is mainly affected by the synergistic effect of butadiene structure, nitrile structure and styrene structure. The research has expanded the research scope of MIR and TD-MIR spectra in the structure and aging properties of important plastics and resins materials.
