Study on Heat Resistance of Polypropylene Blending Modified by Polybutylene Terephthalate
In order to improve the heat resistance temperature of polypropylene(PP)and broaden the application range of PP material, maleic anhydride grafted hydrogenated styrene-butadiene block copolymer(SEBS-g-MAH)was selected as the compatibility agent of polybutylene terephthalate(PBT)and PP blending system, and the effect of compatibility agent of SEBS-g-MAH was compared with that of PP-g-MAH to prepare PP/PBT blends.Differential scanning calorimeter(DSC),scanning electron microscopy(SEM)analysis and mechanical properties test results showed that SEBS-g-MAH effectively improved the compatibility of PP and PBT.Compared with pure PP,the heat deflection temperature of the prepared PP/PBT/SEBS-g-MAH(80/20/15)blend was increased by 15℃,and the notch impact strength was increased by about 50%.The terminal carboxyl reaction of SEBS-g-MAH and PBT changed the molecular structure symmetry of PBT,reduced the crystallization ability of PBT,increased the reactive compatibilization between PP and PBT,and improved the comprehensive performance of the PP/PBT blend.
