Preparation of Polyurethane Composites by Organosilicon Modified Ammonium Polyphosphate and Study on Its Mechanical Properties and Flame Retardancy
In order to obtain thermoplastic polyurethane(TPU)composites with good flame retardancy and mechanical properties, polydimethylsiloxane(PDMS)was coated with modified ammonium polyphosphate(APP)and added to TPU at different amounts to prepare TPU composites. The results show that the addition of PDMS coated modified APP can significantly improve the flame retardancy and smoke suppression performance of TPU composites, and promote the degradation and carbonization of TPU matrix to achieve the purpose of protecting the matrix and flame retardancy. However, the addition of PDMS coated modified APP has a negative impact on the elongation at break of TPU composites.Based on comprehensive analysis,it is recommended to add 15%mass fraction of PDMS coated modified APP to effectively improve the flame retardancy of TPU composites without significantly affecting their mechanical properties.
