Influence of Industrial Production on Purity of Glycolide
The main synthesis method of polyglycolic acid(PGA)is to use high-purity glycolide for ring-opening polymerization.Due to the special material state of the intermediate product, glycolide,in the production process, and its relatively reactive chemical nature,it is highly prone to react with water to form acidic substances. It is also susceptible to degradation reactions under the influence of temperature, which makes it challenging to obtain high-purity polymer-grade glycolide in industrial production.During the purification of glycolide through solvent recrystallization, acids and water are the main impurities affecting the purity of glycolide. The article focuses on the analysis and discussion of factors affecting the purity of glycolide in the synthesis, purification process selection, solvent recrystallization purification, and storage of polymer-grade glycolide, and proposes improvements to reduce the content of acid and water in glycolide during production.By analyzing the influencing factors, the article clarifies the control indicators in the production process of polymer-grade glycolide, which has guiding significance for the production process of PGA.
