The Ceaseless Non-governmental Scientific and Technological Exchange between China and the United States:The Chinese-American Scientist Chieh-Chien Chang Visiting China and Its Influence(1972-1979)
In the 1970s,the cross-border scientific and technological activities of Chinese American scientists played a very important role in promoting the exchange of science and technology between China and the United States.Chinese American scientists have visited China since Chen-Ning Yang's visit to China in 1971.Among them,Chieh-Chien Chang,a Chinese American scientist,visited China several times in 1972,1973,1975 and 1979.He participated in the academic research activities of the Institute of Atmospheric Physics and the Institute of Mechanics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and engaged in teaching and research at Tsinghua University.Chieh-Chien Chang's many visits to China are the ceaseless scientific and technological exchanges between China and the United States,which reflects the importance that both sides attached to technology exchange after the easing of Sino-US relations in the 1970s,the friendly attitude of the United States towards China,and Chieh-Chien Chang's patriotic spirit as a Chinese scientist.
