The Dai ethnic group has a long and rich history and culture.The"Elephant Trunk Phoenix,"as a cultural symbol and unique aesthetic object,embodies the deep emotions and wisdom of the Dai people.It has extensive ap-plications and artistic value,serving as a rich source of inspiration for modern product design and development.This study primarily employs a combination of field investigation and literature research to organize the cultural connota-tions of the Dai Buddhist architecture and the Elephant Trunk Phoenix.By observing and comparing the decorative elements of the Elephant Trunk Phoenix in Dai architecture,the study aims to understand the production techniques and current development status of handmade Dai pottery Elephant Trunk Phoenixes in Jinghong.The research delves into the four aesthetic characteristics of the Elephant Trunk Phoenix-form,meaning and symbolism,material,and color-to provide theoretical support and practical guidance for the inheritance and development of Dai culture.Ad-ditionally,by analyzing the application of the"Elephant Trunk Phoenix"element in cultural and creative product de-sign,the study promotes the integration of ethnic minority culture with modern design,offering new perspectives for the field of modern design.
