Referring to the local records of the Xiaohan region,the Henan General chronicles,the Henan County Records during the Ming and Qing dynasties,and the"Map of the Post from Nanjing to Gansu",this paper investigates the setting of courier stations along the Xiaohan ancient road in the Ming dynasty.Based on analyzing and correcting errors and unclear aspects in set time,location,and evolution of courier stations along the Xiaohan Ancient Road in"Studies on Courier Stations of Ming Dynasty"written by Yang Zhengtai,the setting and operational characteristics of courier stations along the Xiaohan Ancient Road during the Ming dynasty were summarized,and it was believed that their setting time was earlier.Until the end of the Ming dynasty,there was no increase or decrease in the number of post stations.They also maintained considerable stability,and then becoming certain pattern of Xiaohan Ancient Road Station during the Qing Dynasty.
