Research on the Functional Attribute of Jianzhang Palace under the Perspective of Geography and Politics
The Qin and Han dynasties are the era with the multi-palace system of the capital city and the detached palaces to highlight the supremacy of imperial power.Jianzhang Palace has political,religious,military,parade,entertainment and other functions,and once became the political decision-making center of the Han Empire and a religious sacrifice center that Emperor Wu of Han used the detached palace to build the immortal capital and achieve immortality.It played an important role in the political operation from Emperor Wu to Emperor Xuan.As for the functional attributes of Jianzhang Palace,there are two different views:the main palace and the detached palace.From the perspective of geographical space,Jianzhang Palace is located in the Shanglin Royal Garden outside Chang'an City.From the perspective of form and function,the buildings of Jianzhang Palace are scattered,with the characteristics of Qin and Han dynasties with"combination of palaces and gardens".From the writing style of the Han Dynasty history book,the Han people obviously regarded it as a detached palace rather than a main palace.In general,although Jianzhang Palace had the nature of a political centerfora period of time during the Wudi era,Jianzhang Palace is still a typical detached palace from its geographical location,morphological function.
