Determination and Analysis of Terpene Content in the Peels of Different Citrus Fruits
This study established a detection method based on gas chromatography-mass spectrometry(GC-MS)to extract and quantify 12 terpenes in fruit peels. The extraction effect was the best when 15 mL methanol was used as solvent and water bath constant temperature oscillator was used to extract 60 min.The recovery of 12 terpenes was 74.6%~122.5%,and the limit of detection was 0.004~2.190 mg·L-1.The content of limonene in the peel of 16 Citrus fruits was the highest, and the content of terpenes was affected by factors such as fruit origin and species. This method can be used for origin traceability.
