Research on Enzyme Inhibition of Three Types of Sulfated Polysaccharides
Sulfated polysaccharides exhibit a range of biological activities, including anticoagulation, antivirus, antibacterial, anticancer, and promotion of wound healing,as well as inhibiting the excessive activity of various enzymes within living organisms, effectively maintaining life health and preventing aging. This paper investigates the inhibition of three sulfated polysaccharides-fucoidan(FPS),porphyran(PP),and chondroitin sulfate(CS)on the activity of hyaluronidase HAase, collagenase(CLS),tyrosinase(TYR),and elastase(PPE).The results indicate that FPS exhibits inhibitions on HAase,CLS,and PPE;PP and CS have strong inhibitions on HAase and PPE,with CS showing particularly strong inhibitory activity against HAase. The activities of sulfated polysaccharides on HAase may be linked with sulfates, which requires further verification;it has been observed that the smaller the molecular weight of the polysaccharides, the greater their inhibition on HAase activity. This research is expected to provide a reference for the development and utilization of sulfated polysaccharides in aspects such as moisturizing skincare,anti-melanin production, and maintaining skin elasticity.
