Determination of Sudan Dyes in Eggs and Egg Products by Liquid Chromatography-Tandem Mass Spectrometry
Objective:To establish an analytical method for the determination of Sudan Red residues in poultry eggs and egg products by liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry.Method:Acetonitrile extraction, purif ication with Captiva EMR Lipid extraction column;waters ACQUITY UPLC BEH C18(100 mm×2.1 mm,1.7 μm)chromatographic column was used, with 0.2%formic acid water and acetonitrile as the mobile phase for gradient elution, with a flow rate of 0.30 mL·min-1;electro spray ion source, positive ion scanning, multi reaction monitoring;methodological validation was conducted to evaluate the linear range, detection limit, quantification limit, accuracy, precision, and stability of the method.Result:The recovery rates of the four Sudan Red residues by liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry were 62.6%~110.0%,with precision relative standard deviation ranging from 1.20%to 6.41%and a detection limit of 5 μg·kg-1,with a correlation linear coefficient above 0.997.Conclusion:This method effectively removes interfering substances and ensures the quantitative accuracy of Sudan Red through acetonitrile extraction and purification with Captiva EMR Lipid extraction column. Then, liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry is used for analysis to improve detection sensitivity. This method can accurately and reliably determine the residual amount of Sudan red in poultry eggs and egg products. The establishment of this method provides an important analytical tool for monitoring and controlling the quality and safety of poultry eggs.
