Reconstructing the Xylose Metabolic Pathway of Bacillus subtilis to Produce Glycolic Acid
This study aims to obtain a food-safe bacterium capable of utilizing wheat bran to produce acetic acid.By co-overexpressing xdh and yjhG,a genetically engineered strain XDH-YjhG was constructed, which could use wheat bran to produce acetic acid with a yield of 3.15 g·L-1.This study is the first to demonstrate the use of wheat bran as a carbon source for the production of acetic acid, laying the foundation for the cost-effective industrial production of acetic acid.
