An Investigation and Analysis Report on a Food Poisoning Incident Caused by Accidental Ingestion of Rodenticides
Objective:Investigate the food poisoning incident caused by accidental ingestion of rodenticides in Qujiang district,Quzhou city,Zhejiang province,analyze the characteristics and causes of the incident,and provide reference for preventing similar poisoning incidents.Method:Conduct an epidemiological investigation into this incident,studying the source and exposure of suspicious food,clinical manifestations of the case,and laboratory results.Result:The incident in Qujiang district involved a total of 5 cases,with a latent period of 10 to 60 minutes.The clinical manifestations were mainly numbness in hands and feet,dizziness,upper abdominal discomfort,nausea,vomiting,palpitations,etc.All cases were fed with pig lungs mixed with rodenticides.High performance liquid chromatography mass spectrometry was used to detect the content of bromadiolone in the blood samples of 5 cases,which was 1.4 ng·mL-1 to 7.5 ng·mL-1,and bromomyrifos was 0.5 ng·mL-1 to 1.6 ng·mL-1.Conclusion:This food poisoning was caused by accidental ingestion of pig lungs mixed with rodenticides.It is recommended to establish a strict management,use,and supervision system for rodenticides,and strengthen publicity and education for livestock and breeding personnel,food production and processing personnel,and the public to reduce similar incidents.
