Study on the Anti-Fatigue Effect of Flavonoids Extracts from Eclipta alba on Exercise Rats
Objective:To study the changes in exhaustion time, serum biochemical indicators, and glycogen levels after drug intervention in rats, and to provide evidence for the use of flavonoid extracts from Eclipta alba in alleviating exercise induced fatigue and improving exercise ability.Method:Forty healthy male rats were randomly divided into a quiet group(Q),an exercise group(S),an Eclipta alba quiet group(EQ),and an Eclipta alba exercise group(ES),with 10 rats in each group. The quiet group and exercise group were fed normally, while the Eclipta alba quiet group and Eclipta alba exercise group were given a daily dose of 800 mg·kg-1.The exercise group rats were trained on a treadmill for 6 weeks, and after 30 minutes on the last day of the 6th week, the four groups of rats underwent forced exhaustion treadmill exercise with a slope of 0°.Blood was collected under anesthesia after exhaustion, and serum indicators, blood sugar, muscle glycogen, and liver glycogen were tested. The data was analyzed using SPSS 17.0 for analysis of variance and mean comparison. Results:Flavonoids extract compounds of Eclipta alba were able to prolong the exhaustion time of rats, and Eclipta alba flavonoids extract compounds combined with exercise were able to effectively inhibit the elevation of enzyme activities and metabolite serum indexes due to exercise, and effectively increase the levels of blood glucose,myo-glycogen,and hepatic glycogen. Conclusion:The combination of flavonoids extracts from Eclipta alba with exercise can effectively improve the body's anti-free radicals and antioxidant capacity, increase the reserve and utilization of hepatic glycogen and myo-glycogen,reduce the damage of exercise to liver and skeletal muscle, and improve the exercise capacity.
