Study on Microbiological Detection Method for Drinking Water Quality in Urban and Rural Areas of Luoding
Objective:To evaluate the microbial safety of urban and rural drinking water quality in Luoding city, and to compare the application effects of multi-tube fermentation method and enzyme substrate method in the detection of water quality microorganisms.Method:Collect 40 factory water samples and 40 peripheral water samples in urban and rural areas during the dry and wet seasons, totaling 320 water samples.Multi-tube fermentation method and enzyme substrate method were used to detect total coliform bacteria and Escherichia coli.Result:The enzyme substrate method was higher than that of multi-tube fermentation method for the detection rate of total coliform bacteria and Escherichia coli in drinking water during the dry and wet seasons of urban and rural areas, but the difference was not statistically significant(P>0.05),and the detection rate of total coliform bacteria and Escherichia coli in drinking water of urban and rural factory water and peripheral water was also higher than that of multi-tube fermentation, but the difference was not statistically significant(P>0.05).Conclusion:The enzyme substrate method has high sensitivity in the detection of total coliform bacteria and Escherichia coli in drinking water, and its operation is convenient and efficient, which is suitable for popularization. However, the detection cost of the enzyme substrate method is high, and the relationship between cost and efficiency needs to be weighed in practical applications.
