Determination of Synthetic Colorants in Food by Liquid Chromatography
Objective:To establish a method for the determination of synthetic colorants in food by liquid chromatography.Method:The synthetic colorants in food were extracted with ethanol ammonia solution, purified by solid phase extraction column, determined by liquid chromatography(with diode array detector),and quantified by external standard method.Result:The linear range of 11 synthetic colorants was 0.2~10.0 μg·mL-1,the linear correlation coefficient was 0.9994~1.0000,the recovery rate was 94.2%~109.6%,and the relative standard deviation was 0.55%~5.52%.The detection limits of tartrazine, quinoline yellow, sunset yellow, carmine, new red and erythrosine were 0.5 mg·kg-1,and the limits of quantification were 1.5 mg·kg-1.The limits of detection of amaranth, allura red, brilliant blue, acid red and indigo were 0.3 mg·kg-1,and the limits of quantitation were 1.0 mg·kg-1.Conclusion:The method has good repeatability, high sensitivity and strong practicability, and can simultaneously determine the content of various synthetic colorants in food.
