Identification of Cottonseed Oil Adulteration in Common Vegetable Oil
Objective:To establish a gas chromatography-mass spectrometry method for determination of vegetable oil adulterated with cottonseed oil.Method:The sample material was methylated with NaOH-methanol solution, centrifuged and filtrated. The final extract was analyzed by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry. Results:The limits of detection and quantification were 0.775 μg·g-1 and 2.557 μg·g-1,respectively,and the recoveries were 92.55%~94.67%.The lowest identification adulteration rate of soybean oil, sunflower oil, rapeseed oil and sesame oil was 3%,and that of peanut oil was 15%.Conclusion:The method is fast and easy to operate, and is suitable for identifying adulteration of cottonseed oil in vegetable oil.
