Application of Health Food in the Health Management of the Older Adults
In the face of an aging society,the role of health food in the health management of the elderly is becoming increasingly prominent.This article describes the classification of health foods(nutrient supplements,functional foods,traditional tonics)and explores their applications in supplementing nutrition,assisting in the treatment of chronic diseases,regulating immunity,and improving sleep.In view of the problems of exaggerated efficacy,insufficient safety assessment and drug interaction,it is recommended to strengthen the review of efficacy claims,carry out safety studies for the older adults,and establish a drug interaction evaluation mechanism to ensure the safety of health food in the health management of the older adults.
