The Application of Biotechnology in Food Inspection and Testing
Ensuring the quality and safety of food is crucial in the modern food industry.Various biotechnologies play an important role in the field of food inspection and testing,such as enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay,biochips,polymerase chain reaction,real-time fluorescence quantitative PCR,and gene sequencing,which can accurately and quickly identify pathogenic microorganisms,heavy metals,carcinogens,and illegal additives in food,providing strong support for food safety testing.The application of technologies such as biosensors and molecularly imprinted polymers has further improved detection efficiency and accuracy,and reduced detection costs.In addition,gene editing technology,especially the CRISPR-Cas system,has shown great potential in food safety testing.By identifying and cleaving specific gene sequences,it can efficiently detect pathogenic microorganisms,heavy metals,and carcinogens.
