A Study on Urban-Rural Differences in the Influencing Factors of Overweight and Obesity Among Secondary School Students with Different Dietary Patterns
Objective:To find out what causes overweight and obesity in secondary school students with different diets in urban and rural areas.Method:The diets and physical exams of 3 869 secondary school students in Luzhou city were collected and analysed.The study found three main diets:traditional,fruit and veg,and fast food.The results of multivariate Logistic regression analysis showed that gender,whether the child was an only child,mother's education level and father's body type were the influencing factors of overweight and obesity in urban secondary school students(P<0.05).Parent's body type,intensity of exercise and the number of days of eating at school per week were the influencing factors of overweight and obesity in rural secondary school students(P<0.05).Conclusion:The factors affecting overweight and obesity in Luzhou city secondary school students are different depending on their diet.The relevant departments should take intervention measures to prevent overweight and obesity in different situations.
