Optimization of Extraction of Polyphenols from Buds of Cleistocalyx operculatus and Study of Its Antioxidant and Antibacterial Activities
Polyphenols were extracted by ultrasonic assisted method with buds of Cleistocalyx operculatus as raw material and ethanol as extraction agent. In addition, the antioxidant and antibacterial activities of polyphenols extracts were studied in vitro. The results showed that when the concentration of polyphenols was 80 pg/mL,the scavenging rates of ABTS+radical,DPPH radical and hydroxyl radical were 90.22%±1.21%,94.01%±0.08%and 32.72%±5.99%,respectively.The results showed that the polyphenols from buds of Cleistocalyx operculatus had good antioxidant activity. In addition, when the concentration of polyphenols from buds of Cleistocalyx operculatus was 500 pg/mL,it had obvious antibacterial effect on gram-negative bacteria(Escherichia coli)and gram-positive bacteria(Staphylococcus aureus)in vitro. The results showed that the polyphenols from buds of Cleistocalyx operculatus had good antibacterial activity.
