Determination of Sodium Cyclamate in Food by Gas Chromatography
The sodium cyclamate in different food substrates was determined by gas chromatography. The sodium cyclamate in samples was extracted by water and derivated with sodium nitrite in sulfuric acid medium to produce cyclohexanol nitrite and cyclohexanol. After extraction with n-heptane,the cyclohexanol nitrite and cyclohexanol were determined by gas chromatography-hydrogen with flame ionization detector and quantified by external standard method. The experimental results of the juice, biscuits, candy, luncheon meat four different types of sample matrix showed that, the correlation coefficients of cyclohexanol nitrite and cyclohexanol were 0.999 89 and 0.999 80,respectively,in the range of 2-600 μg/mL mass concentration. The limits of detection and limits of quantification of sodium cyclamate were 10 mg/kg and 30 mg/kg,respectively.The average recoveries of the limits of detection, limits of quantification, three times limits of quantification, ten times limits of quantification and maximum residue limit were 92.9%-103.9%,and the relative standard deviations were all less than 2.6%.
