Effects of 1-Methylcyclopropene and Modified Atmosphere Packaging on the Storage Quality of Tomato
The effects of 1-methylcyclopropene(1-MCP),modified atmosphere packaging(MAP)and their combination on the shelf-life quality of tomatoes were studied. The results showed that compared with the control group, both 1-MCP and MAP treatments could effectively maintain the quality of tomato.1-MCP+MAP caused to decreasing of the water loss rate, slowed down the decrease in skin hardness,TSS,TA,reduced the loss of VC,lycopene and lutein β-carotene,and delayed the increase of lycopene content,so as to maintain higher storage quality of tomatoes. After 20 days of storage, the weight loss rate of 1-MCP+MAP treatment was only 11.78% .The skin hardness,TSS,TA,VC,lycopene and lutein β-carotene by 1-MCP+MAP treatment were increased than the contrast by 50.5% ,16.3% ,14.4% ,14.4% ,102.4% and 58.8% ,and the lycopene content was decreased than the contrast by 30.5% .
