Novel Materials in the Preparation of Edible Films and Coatings Based on Natural Extracts
At present,people put forward new requirements for environmental protection and food quality,and food packaging materials.Natural,high quality,safe,non-toxic,inexpensive and degradable edible packaging materials have gradually become a research hotspot in the field of food packaging.The research on edible coatings has seen significant growth and is expected to have an important impact on food quality in the future.As eco-friendly biodegradable packaging,a large number of natural polymers have been used to produce edible films and coatings.In this paper,natural edible ingredients such as plant powder,fruit and vegetable residue,gum,etc.are reviewed as potential materials for innovative food packaging systems,and provide theoretical basis for the selection of edible coating materials.
