Evaluation of the Effect of Low Glycemic Load Food Exchange Method in the Intervention of Type 2 Diabetes Patients——Also Discuss the Implications for the Research and Development of Low Glycemic Load Foods
Investigate the effect of low glycemic load(GL)food exchange on blood glucose in type 2 diabetes patients.A randomized controlled trial design was used to enroll 53 patients with type 2 diabetes, who were divided into experimental group and control group. The experimental group received the staple food of low glycemic load provided by the researcher for diet adjustment, while the control group selected their own food but followed the principle of low glycemic load food exchange. After 42 d of intervention and data recording and analysis by mobile diet management platform,it was found that food exchange method with low glycemic load significantly reduced blood glucose level and improved body weight and body shape of patients in the two groups. The average FBG and HbA1c of the experimental group before intervention were 7.67 μmmol/L and 7.03%.After intervention,it was 6.74 μmmol/L and 6.35%(t=4.301,P<0.001;t=5.398,P<0.001).In the control group, the mean values of FBG and HbA1c were 7.82 μmmol/L and 7.28%before intervention, and 7.32 μmmol/L and 6.83%after intervention(t=2.902,P<0.001;t=5.128,P<0.001).The results support the low glycemic load food exchange method as an effective dietary management method for patients with type 2 diabetes, and also provide beneficial implications for the research and development of low glycemic load foods.
