The Effect of Nutritional Support on the Nutritional Status of Elderly People Fed Nasal Feeding in Nursing Homes
Explore the effect of nutritional intervention on elderly people receiving nasal feeding in nursing homes.Select the elderly who were admitted to Shanghai Sun Moon Star Nursing Home from March to September 2023 and receive nasal feeding.Based on their energy and nutritional needs,optimize and improve their diet,and provide a reasonable proportion of homogenate meals.Before and after nutritional intervention,the body weight,body mass index(BMI),skin fold thickness,serum albumin,hypoproteinemia,nutritional risk screening 2002 evaluation score,and stress injury status of the elderly who received nasal feeding were monitored;Design a survey questionnaire on dietary intervention for elderly patients receiving nasal feeding in nursing homes,to understand the cognition and attitude of medical staff towards the improvement of nasal feeding diet before and after.The results showed that after nutritional intervention,the maintenance and increase rates of body weight,BMI,and skin fold thickness in elderly individuals receiving nasal feeding reached 87.04％,85.19％,and 87.04％,respectively.There was a statistically significant difference in skin fold thickness changes before and after dietary intervention(P＜0.05).After dietary intervention,there were fewer elderly people with nutritional risk than before intervention,and the difference was statistically significant(P＜0.05).Reasonable dietary and nutritional interventions could significantly improve the nutritional status of elderly people receiving nasal feeding in nursing homes and reduce nutritional risks.
