Preparation of Fucoxanthin Anti-photoaging Dosage Form and Its Physical and Chemical Index and Performance Test
Aim to extract fucoxanthin from kelp and develop a serum with antioxidant, moisturizing, and skin elasticity-improving properties.Fucoxanthin was extracted using methanol extraction and purified through silica gel column chromatography. The purified fucoxanthin was identified by thin-layer chromatography(TLC)and infrared spectroscopy(IR).The cytotoxicity of fucoxanthin on HaCaT cells, its antioxidant activity(DPPH radical scavenging activity and hydroxyl radical scavenging activity),as well as its moisturizing and skin elasticity-improving effects were evaluated. An orthogonal experimental design was used to optimize the serum formulation, followed by physicochemical index testing and efficacy assessment.Fucoxanthin was successfully extracted and purified from kelp with an extraction yield of 7.00%.Fucoxanthin exhibited low cytotoxicity towards HaCaT cells and demonstrated strong antioxidant activity. The optimal serum formulation determined through orthogonal experiments consisted of 16%glycerol polyether,8%dipropylene glycol, and 0.4%sodium carboxymethyl cellulose. The physicochemical indices of the optimized serum met national standards, showing significant antioxidant, moisturizing, and skin elasticity-improving effects. The fucoxanthin-enriched serum developed in this study exhibits excellent skincare benefits, making it a promising candidate for new anti-aging cosmetic products development.
