Influence of ascorbic acid treatment on postharvest physiology and storage quality in Pyrus communis L.cv.Early Red Comice
The effect of ascorbic acid treatment on postharvest physiology and quality of European pear(Pyrus communis L.cv.Early Red Comice)were investigated during storage. The results indicated that the ethylene production and respiration rate of fruit treated with 20mmol/L AsA was lower than others. The decline of firmness, titratable acid and Vc content were inhibited during storage, and total soluble solids content of fruit was higher by 20mmol/L AsA treatment. It could inhibit the development of disease of pear fruit in better during storage.Disease incidence in 10mmol/L AsA treatment or 20mmol/L AsA treatment was 18.41% or 24.45% lower than that of control at 100d of storage, respectively.
