Anti Exercise Fatigue Effect of Hylocereus Undulatus Britt.Peel Polysaccharides on Mice
Objective:The peel of Hylocereus undulatus Britt.was the main by-product of pitaya, exhibits significant biological activity. The study investigated the anti-fatigue effects and mechanisms of different doses of Hylocereus undulatus Britt.peel polysaccharides(HPP)in mice.Method:100 SPF grade male Kunming mice were divided into five groups:blank control group, model group, and low, medium, high dose groups of HPP(100,200,400 mg/kg).Result:The antioxidant activity test indicates that HPP had a certain degree of antioxidant ability.Animal experiments had shown that different dosage groups of HPP can significantly prolong the time of fatigue rotation and weight-bearing exhaustive swimming in mice, significantly increase the reserve of liver glycogen and muscle glycogen after exercise, increase the activity of lactate dehydrogenase(LDH),and effectively inhibit the accumulation of metabolic products such as blood lactic acid(BLA)and blood urea nitrogen(BUN)(P<0.05),and it can increase the activities of superoxide dismutase(SOD),catalase(CAT),and glutathione peroxidase(GSH-Px)(P<0.05),and reduce the content of reactive oxygen species(ROS),creatine kinase(CK),and malondialdehyde(MDA).Conclusion:Adding HPP was beneficial for alleviating exercise induced fatigue in organisms, thus providing a basic basis for the development and application of HPP in medicine and functional foods.
