Stoichiometry Analysis on Inhibition of α-Glycosidase Activity of Citrus Peel
Objective:To incestigate the inhibitory activity of Citrus peel against α-glycosidase.Methods:High-performance liquid chromatography(HPLC)was used to determine the content of seven flavonoid components in 13 batches of Citrus peel, establishing a fingerprint.Chemometric methods including cluster analysis, principle component analysis, partial least squares discriminant analysis(PLS-DA),were employed to analyze the spectrum effect relationship between Citrus peel and enzyme inhibition. Results:All 13 batches of Citrus peel had better α-glycosidase inhibition and contained flavonoid components such as naringin, hesperidin, neohesperidin, hespididin, sweet orange flavone, nobiletin and hesperetin. The stoichiometric results showed that hesperetin was the main component of α-glycosidase inhibitory activity in Citrus peel. Conclusion:Citrus peel from Citrus plants can be used in the development of health products for hypoglycemia.
