Anti-Fatigue Effect and Mechanism of Blueberry Anthocyanins
Objective:To explore the effect of blueberry anthocyanins on exercise fatigue in mice. Methods:Different doses of blueberry anthocyanins were fed by gavage, distilled water was used as negative control and taurine was used as positive control. The anti-fatigue activity was evaluated by exhaustion running test, and fatigue related indexes were determined. Results:The concentration of blueberry anthocyanins was(432.15±9.71)mg/g.Compared with the negative control group, different dosage groups and taurine group had no significant effects on body weight and organ index of mice(P<0.05).High-dose blueberry anthocyanins significantly extended the exhausted running time of mice(P<0.05),creatine kinase(CK),blood lactic acid(BLA),blook urea nitrogen(BUN)and malondialdehyde(MDA)levels were the lowest(P<0.05),liver glycogen, muscle glycogen, lactate dehydrogenase(LDH),superoxide dismutase(SOD),catalase(CAT)and glutathione peroxidase(GSH-Px)levels were the highest(P<0.05),the effect was similar to that of taurine group. Conclusion:The results suggest that blueberry anthocyanins could improve the exercise fatigue of mice and provide raw materials for the development of functional food.
