Determination of Seven Rare Sugars in Dairy Products by High Performance Anion Exchange Chromatography with Pulsed Amperometry
An analytical method for the determination of seven rare sugars in dairy products by high performance anion exchange chromatography with pulsed amperometry was established. After ultrasonic extraction and protein precipitation, the samples were separated by CarboPac PA20(3 mm×150 mm)column and analyzed under gradient elution conditions of 0.40 mL/min flow rate and 25 ℃ column temperature.Quantification was performed using the external standard method. The seven rare sugars(trehalose, fucose, arabinose, tagatose, sorbose, aloketose, and isomaltulose)showed good linearity in the concentration range of 0.2 mg/L to 50.0 mg/L,with correlation coefficients r≥0.999.The limits of quantification ranged from 0.05 mg/100g to 0.28 mg/100g.The recoveries of the seven rare sugars ranged from 86.9%to 106.0%,with relative standard deviations from 0.29%to 3.12%.The method allows for the quantitative analysis of the seven rare sugars within 15 minutes, offering simplicity, rapid analysis, high sensitivity, and applicability for measuring multiple rare sugars in dairy products.
