Effects of Exogenous Melatonin on Quality and Active Oxygen Metabolism of Green Walnut
The effects of exogenous melatonin(MT)combined with spontaneous modified atmosphere packaging(MAP)on quality and active oxygen metabolism of green walnut,Yunnan'Da Ma'green walnut as the research object. The control group was treated with distilled water and stored at 4 ℃ in combination with MAP.The results showed that the exogenous MT could effectively inhibit the fruit cracking rate, soft brown rate and the accumulation of reactive oxygen species increase, the activities of superoxide dismutase(SOD),catalase(CAT)antioxidant enzymes and the contents of antioxidant substances, while the accumulation of soluble sugar and soluble protein in nucleolus was promoted, and the increase of acid value in nucleolus was delayed, maintain good quality. After 90 days storage, the dehiscence rate, malondialdehyde(MDA)content and relative conductivity were 42%,0.35 μmol/L and 56.0%,were significantly lower than those treated with 0.25 mmol/L MT combined with MAP treatment(P<0.05).Contents of ascorbic acid(AsA),glutathione(GSH)were 501.25 mg/100 g,3.30 μmol/g,significantly higher than 0.25 mmol/L MT treatment(P<0.05).In conclusion,MT could delay the senescence process by regulating the metabolism of reactive oxygen species, and 0.5 mmol/L MT treatment was more effective. It provided theoretical support for application of MT and postharvest preservation of green walnut.
