Effects on juglone to Escherichia coli resPiration energy metabolism
In recent years, studies have found that juglone shows inhibition of bacteria, but its antibacterial mechanism is unclear. This article reveals juglone ' s antibacterial mechanism in terms of Escherichia coli respiration and the energy metabolism. The medium on oxygen, glucose content, cells of ATP content and ATP enzyme activity. The results showed that the bacteriostatic on the lowest concentration (MIC), liquid medium of oxygen to slightly decreased, respectively. After eight hours tended to constant, the content of dissolved oxygen fell 24. 2%, while, the ethanol contrast (CK2) fell 39. 4%. The medium of the glucose levels dropped at first and then rose, the glucose content rose 9. 1%, while CK2 dropped 6. I%. While Escherichia coli ATP content first steeped descent, then slow rose, 4 hours after tented to constant, MIC fell at least. ATP enzyme activity declined slightly at the beginning of experiment, then increased slightly, MIC rose at least, and finally dropped which seemed to be fluctuant. Testify that as increasing of the time, different concentrations of juglone to breathing and energy metabolizationof Escherichia coli had certain effect.
