Evaluation of the Physical Properties of Honeysuckle Product and Its Effects of Relieving Alcohol Intoxication and Protecting Liver
A honeysuckle-based compound functional food for relieving alcohol intoxication and protecting the liver was designed,supplemented with other medicinal and edible homologous substances such as chrysanthe-mum,malt,tangerine peel,poria cocos,mint,and pueraria.Using extraction,concentration,and spray-drying techniques,both honeysuckle single powder and honeysuckle compound powder were prepared,and their physical properties and effects were studied.In terms of physical properties,compared to the single powder,the honeysuckle compound powder for relieving alcohol intoxication and protecting the liver exhibited better flow-ability,a higher water solubility index,and better solubility.Regarding antioxidant activity,the DPPH radical scavenging capacity of honeysuckle compound powder reached 70.40%,and the hydroxyl radical scavenging capacity reached 96.25%,both of which were superior to those of the honeysuckle single powder.In a zebrafish model of alcoholic liver injury,the honeysuckle compound powder more significantly increased the fluores-cence area and intensity of the liver,demonstrating a better protective effect against alcoholic liver injury.
