The effects of air pressure therapeutic apparatus on relieving lower limb muscles and joints pain after paclitaxel protein-bound chemotherapy for breast cancer
Objective To observe the effects of air pressure therapeutic apparatus in relieving lower limb muscles and joints pain caused by albumin-bound paclitaxel chemotherapy in breast cancer.Methods Totally 150 breast cancer patients who received paclitaxel protein-bound chemotherapy in the First Affiliated Hospital of Henan University from February 1,2020 to February 1,2023 were enrolled in the study.They were randomly divided into two groups,75 patients in the control group and 75 patients in the observation group.The control group was given routine care.In addition to routine care,the observation group received additional air pressure therapy device treatment.The quality of life,lower limb pain scores,pain duration,and patient satisfaction between two groups of patients during chemotherapy were compared.Re-sults After treatment,the physiological condition score of the observation group patients was(7.20±3.59)points,low-er than that of the control group(11.80±2.36)points,t=7.816,P<0.001.The emotional score was(10.24±1.81)points,lower than that of the control group(11.80±1.59)points,t=5.505,P<0.001.The functional score was(20.48±1.80)points,higher than that of the control group(13.80±3.91)points,t=13.422,P<0.001.The social/family situation score was(22.28±2.00),higher than that of the control group's(16.16±2.79)score,t=15.447,P<0.001.The pain score of the observation group patients was(1.36±0.63)points,lower than that of the control group(3.08±0.80)points,t=14.622,P<0.001.The duration of pain was(4.44±0.77)days,shorter than that of the control group(7.32±1.18)days,t=17.701,P<0.001.Thirty-three patients in the observation group were very satis-fied,30 were satisfied,11 were basically satisfied,and 1 was dissatisfied.Twenty-seven patients in the control group were very satisfied,17 were satisfied,21 were basically satisfied,and 10 was dissatisfied.The nursing satisfaction of the observation group(98.67%)was higher than that of the control group(86.67%),and the difference was statistically significant,x2=7.946,P<0.001.Conclusion The air pressure therapeutic apparatus plays an effective role in alleviating the muscles and joints pain for the patients with breast cancer receiving albumin-bound paclitaxel chemotherapy,impro-ving the quality of life of patients during chemotherapy,reducing the degree of muscles and joints pain in lower limbs,shortening the duration of pain,and improving the satisfaction of patients during chemotherapy.
